The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley have locations in Black River Falls, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, and Menomonie. The following volunteer opportunities are available at all four Club locations. Volunteer applications are accepted all year-long.

Volunteer Directly with Youth

  • Art Club Program Volunteer – Assist program staff with all types of art-related programming.
  • Game Room Volunteer- Supervise and have fun with members during free time playing pool, ping-pong, video games, and more.
  • Homework Help/Tutor- Assist members with homework after school.
  • Keystone Program Volunteer – Assist program staff with teen Keystone programming, focusing on small Club events, service projects for the community, and off-site service opportunities.
  • Membership Program Volunteer – Work at the front desk, assisting with membership recruitment and retention, program tracking and reporting, and family support.
  • Music Lesson Volunteer- Teach piano, guitar, or drum lessons to members in one-on-one or small group settings.
  • Music Program Volunteer– Assist program staff with music-related programming including teaching members how to use recording equipment.
  • Program Volunteer- Assist program staff with daily programming and overall supervision of youth.
  • Recreation Program Volunteer – Supervise programming in the Club rec rooms.
  • Special Events Volunteer- Assist program staff with special programming events at the Club like Youth and Teen Late Nights.
  • Sports & Fitness Program Volunteer – Assist program staff with sports and recreation programming.
  • Torch Club Volunteer - Assist program staff with youth Torch Club programming, focusing on small Club events, service projects for the community, and off-site service opportunities.

Other Volunteer Opportunites:

  • Dinner Volunteer- Help prepare and serve dinner to members after school.
  • Facility Improvement Volunteer- Help us keep our facility at its best by volunteering your fix-it skills.
  • Special Events Volunteer- Assist with annual fundraising events. Click on the Special Events tab for dates and more information about each Club’s fundraisers.

Available Internships:

These internships may be based in the Administration office in Eau Claire or at the Club locations in Black River Falls, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, and Menomonie.

Graphic Design Internship

Applications accepted March 15-April 15 for Fall Semester and November 1-30 for Spring Semester.

Intern will work with the Center Director or Administrative Team to design or update promotional materials for special events and fundraising initiatives. This may include event invitations, posters, programs, brochures, table tents, social media graphics, website banners, slide show backgrounds, direct mail pieces, and more. Due to limited computer resources, Graphic Design interns may use their own laptops and may work off-site. All internships are unpaid. Special Events Internship

Applications accepted March 15-April 15 for Fall Semester and November 1-30 for Spring Semester.

Intern will work with the Center Director or Administrative Team to plan and execute fundraising events. Tasks may include attending committee meetings, distributing posters, securing auction items, creating PowerPoint presentations, working with Club members on art projects, setting up and working at the event, writing thank you notes, and other duties as assigned. Special Events interns will work on-site. Hours will be mutually agreed upon, but please note, many of these activities take place during the typical 8-5 business day. All internships are unpaid. The following unpaid internships are available at each of the Club locations in Black River Falls, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, and Menomonie:

Applications accepted March 15-April 15 for Summer and Fall Semester and November 1-30 for Spring Semester.

Teen Program Internship* - Works within the teen program with Club members in grades 6-12 facilitating programs, assisting with homework and serving snacks and meals, and aiding in behavior escalations as needed. Intern will facilitate one special program per week.

Youth Program Internship - Works within the youth program with Club members in grades 3-5 facilitating programs, assisting with homework and serving snacks and meals, and aiding in behavior escalations as needed. Intern will facilitate one special program per week.

* Teen Program Internship not available at Menomonie Club.
