Health & Wellness
These programs develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors to nurture their well-being, set personal goals, and grow into self-sufficient adults. Through education and encouragement, we focus on having a healthy mind and giving youth the ability to express their emotions in a supportive environment.
Be A Star Bullying Prevention
This program is focused on social and emotional learning, gives Club members ages 11-13 the tools they need to enhance their knowledge, decision making, creativity, relationships, and mental health. The Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s nationally recognized program was developed in partnership with WWE and the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence.
Healthy Habits
This program, available to all members, is a cooking program that encourages healthy eating and smart choices.
Kids’ and Teen Garden
This program provides members with the opportunity to plant, grow, and harvest plants and vegetables. In partnership with the UW Extension, members have the chance to plant and raise a community garden.
SMART Girls
This program, available to girls ages 8-11, focuses on health, fitness, prevention, education, and self-esteem enhancement.
Passport to Manhood
This program, available to boys ages 8–11, focuses on health, fitness, prevention, education, and self-esteem enhancement.
SMART Moves
This program is available to teens ages 12-18 and focuses on safe and healthy decision-making.
Sports & Recreation
Engaging youth and teens in physical activity related to recreational play and athletics helps young people develop skills and confidence and learn about teamwork and sportsmanship.
All-Stars
The program is open to all members and allows members to participate in various team sports such as soccer, basketball, kickball, baseball, and more.
Daily Challenge
This program focuses on getting Club members active for 30 minutes each day to focus on all fun and physical well-being.
Social Recreation
This program is available to all members. Tournaments include ping pong, pool, foosball, carpet ball, air hockey, and variations of these games. This program focuses on teaching kids how to follow the rules, skills, and good sportsmanship.
Leadership Clubs
These programs are open to all members allowing them to enhance team-building skills. This is done through various athletic team sports such as soccer, basketball, and football.
Student-Athletes
This program allows members to connect and interact with college-level athletes when they volunteer at the Club. These athletes share their experiences as high school and college students trying to balance sports and academic demands.
