Georgia Z. started attending the Boys & Girls Club in the Fall of 2023. When Georgia first started the Club, it was easy for staff to see that Georgia is a girl with a lot of spunk, a good sense of humor, and a competitive spirit. Through programs like Artology, Triple Play, and STEM, Georgia was able to explore new interests and challenge herself. But she also faced a common struggle that many kids experience – regulating her emotions.

With Georgia’s big personality, she experienced big emotions, and at times it was hard to calm down. The Club’s staff recognized Georgia’s needs and developed a routine and coping skills that she enjoyed and goals that she was able to meet.

Thanks to the Club’s guidance and Georgia’s hard work, she was able to not only regulate her emotions better but also develop more positive relationships with staff and other members. This is just one example of how the Boys & Girls Club is transforming the lives of young people in our community.
